Per-role pricing and the new Help Center

Per-role pricing and the new Help Center

Two quality-of-life upgrades: pricing now reflects the actual market per role, and a Dub-style Help Center with 30 articles across 5 categories is live.

Two shipped-this-month items worth calling out.

Per-role pricing

Our pricing page now reflects the real market for each role. Before: one flat Part-Time / Full-Time pair pretending a senior developer and an EA cost the same (they don't). After:

RolePart-TimeFull-Time
Executive Assistant$1,790$2,890
Customer Support$1,490$2,290
Sales Development$1,990$2,990
Marketing$2,290$3,590
Designer$2,290$3,490
Developer$2,890$4,490

Transparent pricing works because it's honest. See the Pricing page →

Help Center

A proper article-based Help Center is live at /help:

  • 5 topic categories — Hiring & Matching, Workspace & Tools, Billing & Contracts, For Candidates, Security & Trust
  • 30 articles (average 2-3 minute read) with their own URLs and SEO metadata
  • Every article is an MDX file in our repo — easy for the whole team to edit

Dashboard v2: Schedule, Metrics and Messages upgrade

Dashboard v2: Schedule, Metrics and Messages upgrade

A big upgrade to the workspace — cross-timezone team schedule, live performance metrics, and a redesigned Messages module with presence and read receipts.

Dashboard v2 ships today. Three new modules plus a round of polish across the workspace.

What's new

Team Schedule

A cross-timezone calendar showing every assistant's shifts, holidays and time off. Add overtime, log leave requests, approve with one click. Public holiday awareness per country.

Performance Metrics

Live dashboards for hours logged, tasks completed, average response time and CSAT — per assistant, per team, per month/quarter/year. Exportable to CSV or your BI stack.

Messages v2

  • Real-time presence and typing indicators
  • Read receipts across 1:1 and team threads
  • File attachments pulled directly from Vault or Files
  • Mobile-first redesign

What improved

  • Tasks module now supports Board, Calendar, Timeline and Table views (not just List)
  • SOD and EOD reports show mood trends over the last 14 days
  • Full export for every module in CSV or JSON

Why this release

Dashboard v1 proved the workspace model worked. Dashboard v2 moves us from "workable MVP" to "actually nice to use". The next big upgrade is on the roadmap for June.

Kamva 1.0: your AI chief of staff, built in

Kamva 1.0: your AI chief of staff, built in

An AI that actually knows your team. Kamva reads your reports, tasks, files and directory — then drafts the follow-up, writes the update, or runs the deep research. With citations.

Today Kamva — our AI chief of staff — is live in every South Assistants workspace at no extra cost.

Workspace-native, not a chat tab

Kamva is scoped to your workspace data by default: SOD/EOD reports, tasks, files, team directory. Ask a question, draft an update, or run deep research — grounded in your own data, with citations.

Three modes

  • Thinking — step-by-step reasoning for everyday asks
  • Deep Research — long-form multi-pass research across workspace + the open web
  • Image Creator — diagrams, social assets, inline creative

Six sources

Tasks, Reports, Files, Team, Internet, Gmail (opt-in). Source selection is per-conversation, not per-tenant — so different team members get appropriately-scoped Kamvas.

The thesis

Kamva compresses the friction between your workspace data and the actions you actually want to take with it. A Monday morning digest that used to take 45 minutes of scrolling now takes 4.

Vault: encrypted credentials for every client

Vault: encrypted credentials for every client

Stop DM-ing passwords. The Vault is a dedicated, end-to-end encrypted credential store with granular share policies and a full audit log — built right into the workspace.

Vault ships today. Every client credential your assistant needs now lives in an end-to-end encrypted store, never in an email or a DM.

What's in the Vault

  • Passwords — with optional auto-fill on supported sites
  • API keys — for your third-party services
  • Cards — corporate card details with CVV kept separate
  • Notes — wire instructions, confidential docs

Permissions model

  • Share per-person, per-role, or workspace-wide
  • Per-item policies: view-only, auto-fill-only, full access
  • One-click revoke that propagates instantly across all active sessions
  • Every access, share and revocation logged with timestamp and IP

Security

End-to-end encryption — keys never leave your workspace unencrypted. All of our policies and controls are SOC 2-aligned. Formal certification is on our 2026 roadmap.

Client Dashboard v1 is live

Client Dashboard v1 is live

The first version of our workspace ships today — daily SOD and EOD reports, tasks, time tracking and messages. The app your remote team actually runs on.

Our workspace is live. Every South Assistants client now gets access to a dedicated dashboard at no extra cost.

What shipped in v1

  • Start of Day reports — priorities, mood, planned hours, blockers. Posted by every assistant before 9am.
  • End of Day reports — accomplishments, blockers encountered, tomorrow's plan.
  • Tasks & delegated work — assign, prioritise, comment, track. List view only in v1; other views coming soon.
  • Time tracking — contracted vs. actual hours with weekly approval.
  • Messages — built-in threaded chat between you and your assistant.

Why it matters

Before the workspace, client-assistant communication was scattered across Slack, email and WhatsApp. Every hire meant another tool onboarding. Now there's one home for the relationship — and one export if you ever need to leave.

The tech

Built on Next.js 15, Supabase, and our custom real-time layer. Sub-100ms update propagation. Available on web today; fully responsive for mobile.

More to come — Schedule and Metrics modules are already in testing.

The top 3% vetting funnel goes live

The top 3% vetting funnel goes live

Five stages, same bar for every role. Our blind-graded hiring process is operational, and the first cohort of vetted assistants is ready to match with clients.

Our vetting funnel is now fully operational. Every candidate — regardless of role — passes through the same five-stage process.

The funnel

  1. Application review — every submission read by a human. No ATS keyword screens.
  2. Role-specific skills assessment — blind-graded against a rubric before reviewers see the candidate.
  3. Written & spoken English assessment — calibrated for US, UK and EU business contexts.
  4. Live scenarios & culture interview — 45 minutes of live work and conversation on composure, ownership and curiosity.
  5. Paid trial week — shortlisted candidates do paid work on a sample scope before we make an offer.

First cohort numbers

  • 420 applications received across six tracks in the first three weeks
  • 11 candidates made it to a paid trial
  • 8 hires signed — ready to match with clients from February onwards

Fewer than 3 in 100 applicants make it through. We're keeping that bar high.

More on the methodology in our blog post: The top 3% vetting process, explained.

Founding day: Introducing South Assistants

Founding day: Introducing South Assistants

We're building a bridge between elite South African talent and ambitious leaders in the US, UK and Europe. Today we're live — and hiring.

Today we're announcing South Assistants (Pty) Ltd — a registered South African private company on a single mission: connect the world's best remote talent with the world's most ambitious leaders.

Why we exist

Every month, thousands of sharp, English-fluent, deeply motivated professionals graduate from South African universities. They work to the same standard as their counterparts in London or New York — and on the same timezones for most of the business day.

Every month, a new wave of founders and operators in the US, UK and Europe realise they can't afford to hire senior support locally without burning through runway.

We're the bridge.

What we're starting with

Our initial focus is six service tracks:

  • Executive Assistants
  • Customer Support
  • Sales Development Representatives
  • Marketing Coordinators
  • Designers
  • Developers

Every hire comes with full vetting, legal employment (by us), and a polished workspace — details coming in future updates.

What's next

Over the coming weeks we'll roll out the vetting funnel, the Client Dashboard, and the first assistants will be matched with clients. You can follow along in this changelog or book a call if you want in early.

Welcome to day one.

Ready when you are

Book a 30-minute strategy call. We'll map the role, share matches, and quote the rate — live.
